Drawing Clouds in ChiaroScuro is a 6 week Course July 16th - August 20th 6:00-8:00pm Thursday evening This is a new online drawing course that I will be teaching, focused on one specific subject at a time. Throughout the year, I will be offering several course series covering a variety of subjects, including waves, clouds, still lifes, seashells, and baby animals (suggestions welcomed) In this course, you will learn the art of capturing clouds using an amazing foundational drawing technique that will help you successfully master tones, values, and the subtle nuances that are essential to creating realistic cloud formations. This technique is called ChiaroScuro it is an Italian Drawing term meaning Light/Dark. New skills and techniques for creating a variety of cloud formations will be added each week. This fun and fulfilling step-by-step course will guide you through creating weekly 5" x 7" or 6" x 8" black-and-white drawing studies using charcoal and pastels on gray-toned paper. Learning the tonal value scale and how to manipulate smooth transitions to create volume and depth in your drawings will give you the confidence to apply these skills to all painting mediums. This course is non-refundable, but each session will be recorded, and you’ll receive a downloadable copy within 24 hours. All reference materials for class will be emailed to you weekly.
